Bale costs Real Madrid 85 million Pounds..That might be outrageous but almost the same age as Ronaldo when he was Valued at 80 milllion pound by Utd in 2009. Is it a fair Market Value for Bale??? Lets check his record in last 4 seasons.
We can see clearly, that his goals tally has increased steadily every season where as his shot per goal has been decreasing since 2009-10. This could be due to the fact that AVB is playing him more in a free roaming role than that of a classical winger. This new role has enabled him to play more shots at goal hence improving his Shots per game and shot per goal. His shot efficiency has dramatically improved as compared to last 3 seasons. As compared to 2011-12 he needed 15 shots to score a goal whereas now he scores a goal in every 8 shots hence doubling his efficiency in one whole season. As the role has been more free roaming we can see that he has shed some of his defensive duties as compared to previous season. His passing has been more or less the same about 80% passes finding its target. He has been attempting lesser dribbles as compared to last season. This could be due to the fact that Bale, has been encouraged to take more shots from outside the box at goal. This means he does not have to take down defenders as much as he would when playing on the flanks. This explains also the lesser amount of assists he produced as compared to last season.
That Being said and analyzed the question that arises is how much exactly is he gonna cost??? What value is he gonna bring to the team and how much more can he produce and if he can do it in a consistent basis while remaining injury free. These are difficult questions to answer but when Mesut Ozil, who has created more than 90 clear cut chances and is proclaimed as the assist king in Europe costs 42.5 million GBP you tend to think if Gareth bale is worth the double of Ozil. Gareth bale has to prove a lot for the time being. I have a feeling that Real Madrid paid over the odds at the moment. But with the oil rich clubs inflating the transfer market and new record breaking broadcasting and commercial deal being signed every year, the 80 million mark might soon be dwarfed. A club desperate to show its intent can spend more than that In a market where every club have their head so much up their ar*e that every 20 million or 30 million or even 50 million bid is disgraceful, it won't be surprising to see a PSG or a Monaco or any other noveau riche club spend 100 million GBP just to prove that they can spend. How long this trend can continue is another debate and if FFP can stop this senseless spending is again another issue. Schalke built their new stadium for 140 odd million euros whereas Real Madrid spent 100 million on one player... there goes the sense out of the window.
Time will tell what happens but for now Gareth bale seems a vanity project to bloat Real Madrid's superficial Ego.
